An online program also has the advantage of allowing you to work at your own pace, unlike a traditional college if you want to take extra courses and finish a degree in three years you can do that. There are disadvantages to getting an online degree that need to be kept in mind if you are thinking about pursuing one. One of the major downsides is that there is no interaction with your fellow classmates. Many people find this interaction to be helpful in learning and may struggle without it. The biggest downside however is the limited interaction with your professors. This is a problem for two reasons, first because when you don't understand something it is not easy to get help. The second reason that limited interaction is a problem is that if you are planning to attend grad school you are usually required to submit letters of recommendation from you professors. Getting these can be a problem if have never actually met your professor.
